Dustin Johnson Golf School’s Allen Terrell Named Among GOLF Magazine Top 100 Teachers in America for 2026-2027

Allen Terrell, director of coaching at the Dustin Johnson Golf School at TPC Myrtle Beach, was named Friday to GOLF Magazine’s latest biennial ranking of the “Top 100 Teachers in America” for 2026-2027.

It’s the second time since 2021 that Terrell has landed among GOLF Magazine’s ranking of the nation’s elite instructors. The most recent honor also comes on the heels of September’s Golf Digest release of its “Best Teachers In Every State, 2026-2027” ranking, which once more listed Terrell among its top choices.

The multiple GOLF Magazine and Golf Digest honors he’s now received in recent years add impressive chapters to Terrell’s ever-growing list of accolades, which also includes receiving the 2020 Palmer Maples Teacher of the Year Award, the Carolinas PGA section’s highest instructional honor.

Terrell, who helped Johnson develop from an under-recruited college player into the world’s best golfer, helps players at all levels of the game hone their skills. From the thriving kids program he launched at the Dustin Johnson Golf School to competitive juniors and professional golfers, Terrell’s approach to instruction has helped countless players improve their game.

Under his guidance, the Dustin Johnson Golf School has quickly emerged as one of the nation’s premier teaching facilities, highlighted by one of the fastest growing junior programs in the southeast.

Terrell has also been instrumental in the development of the Dustin Johnson World Junior Golf Championship. In 10 years, the 54-hole, college style event has grown into one of the world’s best junior tournaments, attracting one of the strongest fields in youth golf.
