Golf Digest Editors Rank Dustin Johnson Golf School Among The Nation’s Premier Instructional Facilities

Golf Digest has unveiled its “Editor’s Choice: Best School & Academies” list and the Dustin Johnson Golf School was one of 50 facilities across America honored by the venerable magazine.

Compiled by its editors, Golf Digest wrote of the list, “whether you’re interested in turning your annual buddies trip into a game improvement experience, adding a learn-a-new-sport component to family vacation or looking for the most convenient and accessible way to work with a world-famous teacher, Golf Digest’s list of best academies is the place to start.”

“To be ranked among America’s top 50 golf schools and academies by Golf Digest’s editors is a tremendous honor,” said Allen Terrell, the director of instruction at the Dustin Johnson Golf School. “When we launched the school, Dustin’s goal was to help players at all levels of the game – from the PGA Tour to newcomers – play better, so to be recognized by one of the most respected names in golf media is certainly gratifying.”

The accolade is another on a growing list of honors for the golf school and Terrell, who was ranked among “The Best Teachers In Your State, 2022-2023” by Golf Digest.

Terrell was also ranked among “GOLF’s Top 100 Teachers in America,” and he won the 2020 Palmer Maples Teacher of the Year Award, the Carolinas PGA section’s highest instructional honor.

Terrell, who helped Johnson develop from an under-recruited college player into the world’s best golfer, helps players at all levels of the game hone their skills. From the thriving kids program he launched at the Dustin Johnson Golf School to competitive juniors and professional golfers, Terrell’s approach to instruction has helped countless players maximize their ability.

Under his guidance, the Dustin Johnson Golf School has quickly emerged as one of the nation’s premier teaching facilities, highlighted by one of the fastest growing junior programs in the southeast.

Terrell has also been instrumental in the development of the Dustin Johnson World Junior Golf Championship. In just seven years, the 54-hole, college-style event has grown into one of the world’s best junior tournaments, attracting one of the strongest fields in youth golf.
